What County Commssion does for you

Manage the county’s budget and finances to make sure taxpayer money is spent responsibly.
Maintain county buildings and property, including courthouses, jails, and other public facilities.
Inspect and oversee county jails to ensure prisoners are properly cared for.
Check the condition of bridges and other county infrastructure to ensure they are safe and maintained.
Oversee county services and programs that support residents’ health and well-being.
Review property tax assessments to help ensure taxes are fair and accurate.
Work with regional and state agencies on economic development and planning projects.
Develop parks, recreation facilities, and community spaces for public use.
Support emergency services infrastructure, such as buildings for fire, EMS, and emergency management.
Oversee county-owned facilities, such as airports or public markets.
Identify neglected infrastructure, like abandoned buildings or “orphaned” roads that no government currently maintains.
Coordinate with other local and state officials to address crime, development, and public services.
